Ki Pro Stopped Recording
There are a few simple reasons the Ki Pro will stop recording on its own. This article covers a few settings and revisiting one of the processes to fix the issues in the future.
Format the Hard Drive
Sometimes we've found that formatting the hard drive will help solve many issues experienced with the Ki Pro. Here is a step-by-step guide on How to Format the Ki Pro.
Check the Dropped Frame Setting
The dropped frame setting tells the Ki Pro what to do in the event that a small glitch happens, also known as dropped frames. Video is sent in our environments is sent in either 30 frames per second or 60 frames per second. If one of those frames is lost in the digital world, the Ki Pro might stop recording.
Check to make sure the dropped frame setting is set to 'Continue.'
Navigate to the IP address of the Ki Pro, then the Media Menu, then 'Dropped Frames.'
Select the continue option. In the event that the Ki Pro drops a few frames it will continue to record.
Check the Continue Recording Setting
The continue recording setting is much like the dropped frame setting. However, you'll need to tell this setting to have the Ki Pro continue recording if a loss of video happens as well.
Make sure the loss of video setting is set to 'Continue.'
Navigate to the IP address of the Ki Pro, then the Config Menu, then 'Loss of Video.'
This parameter selects whether recording continues when valid video is not present.
Select the continue option. In the event that the Ki Pro loses a video signal it will continue to record.
Note: If 'CONT REC' is selected, and a loss of video is encountered, a graphic with the text "Loss of Video" superimposed over color bars will appear. Be sure to check your source and video connections if you are experiencing a loss of video.
Media Compatability
Check this article to see if your media storage device is compatible with the current version of the Ki Pro. If it is not, there is a higher likelihood that your media will stop recording at random.
